Alan Barson Novice Teacher Award
Dr. Alan Barson
Presented to an outstanding classroom teacher (Pre-K – 12) with 3 or fewer years of experience who has demonstrated effective student-centered teaching grounded in strong mathematical content and pedagogy.
Criteria:
• Classroom Teacher, any level from Pre-Kindergarten to 12 th grade
• 3 or fewer years of experience
• Nominations will be accepted from a direct supervisor (chairperson/supervisor/administrator). Nominator should comment on the nominee's mathematics knowledge, creativity, quality of interactions with students and colleagues, and how the nominee has shown a continued love of learning through active membership in a professional learning community.
